consider 'the graffiti and tagging amendment bill', and i wonder what would have happened to him if it was in place... it's coming up to its third reading (august)... and the bill goes beyond the graffiti laws that already exist, police will have the power to arrest a person merely suspected of it...

I understand communities are struggling with graffiti and tagging, it's been round for many years, we all know the negatives...
but you know what? I don't think people should be jailed for it...
if you break it down, it is, basically, an expression at its essence.
at times, glorious.
is the content of tags/graffiti ever bad enough that a person should be jailed for it? the money they complain about that it costs to clean up, worthy enough to effect someone's freedom?
....a few months ago, a teenager was killed by a frustrated property owner because he was tagging...
